Jan 6th. Day 1 At Sea
All excited this morning as we packed our cases one more time and grabbed some breakfast before we were being picked up at 11:45am to go on our 7 night cruise on the Celebrity Edge.
The coach picked us up with a load of other passengers going to other ships and we were the second drop off.
we pulled up opposite the ship and we walked into the check in building, We were totally blown away with the new process you come in through security and then get in a very short line and present your tickets to the person and they take a picture and thats it you get on the ship, our keys are waiting at the room which is accessible straight away, so the whole thing took about 12 minutes before we were in our rooms, even some rooms had the cases outside. OMG the rooms are wonderful so modern with high tech features. Just look at the images, its a standard Veranda room and you will be impressed. We dumped our bags and went to get our first drink, we ended up in some bar and I asked for a Kraken and the guy who’s name is “I Made” said he could get me one, but from another bar, in no time I had my drink and jokingly said hide the bottle so he did, so within 20 minutes of being onboard I had my own stash of Kraken hidden away for me. We had a call from our friend Brendon who asked us what time we were leaving so he could arrange a web cam to pick us out so we said we would be up on deck 15 in a certain spot, it was funny because me and Lorna were waving frantically and others wondered what we were doing and then the phone rang and Brandon said he could see us and we were being captured. That was cool, we then went back to the room after sail away which was at 4pm to finished un packing and getting ready to explore the rest of the ship. We decided to get showered and ready for the rest of the day and met up for a drink before diner, we also thought it would be a good idea to go to the theatre to see a comedian at 7pm, so we went into the very swanky theatre and prepared for the show but before there was a interactive quiz that we all tried to use our phones but only Lorna could connect anyway it was a bank of question on the main screen on the stage and you had multiple choice on the app, well bugger me Lorna only won the whole thing it was really a collaboration of Lorna and Colm. You never win big with these type of quiz and Lorna got a Waterproof bag which was now a pain to carry around. But anyway next was the comedian who was really funny we all belly laughed and really enjoyed the act, so now it was time to eat in our dedicated restaurant, Tuscan. Now normally the main dining restaurants are huge and over 2 floors but the Edge wanting to be different split the guests into 4 smaller more intimate restaurants which was a really nice change, we had a great meal and our table servers were very nice and ours for the week. As per usual we were the last to leave and this meant it was about 10:30 so we went for a few more drinks before heading off to our lovely king size bed.
